2000 Visions Project
The 2000 Visions Project is an initiative by Volunteers Incorporated aimed at providing over 2000 prescription glasses to children and young adults who cannot afford them. This project seeks to enhance the quality of life and educational outcomes for these individuals by addressing their vision needs. By partnering with local optometrists, schools, and communities, we aim to conduct eye screenings, provide eye exams, and distribute glasses to those in need, fostering better educational performance and overall well-being.
In Jamaica, access to affordable healthcare, including vision care, remains a challenge for many individuals, particularly children and young adults from low-income families. The lack of financial resources often prevents them from receiving essential eye care services, leading to untreated vision problems that significantly impact their daily lives and future prospects.
International Coastal Cleanup Day
At Volunteers Inc., we are committed to preserving the beauty and health of our environment. Our International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day Initiative aims to tackle one of the most pressing environmental issues—ocean pollution. ICC Day, recognized globally, brings together volunteers from all walks of life to clean up beaches, rivers, and coastal areas, making a tangible difference in our communities and marine ecosystems.
On September 21, 2024, Volunteers Inc. will be hosting coastal cleanups across several locations in Jamaica, including Bob Marley Beach and Southaven Beach. We will unite passionate individuals, corporate partners, and community groups to remove trash, collect valuable data on pollution sources, and spread awareness about the importance of keeping our coastlines clean.
Through this initiative, we aim to:
- Remove thousands of pounds of trash from our beaches and waterways.
- Educate the public about the harmful effects of pollution on marine life and human health.
- Empower communities to take ongoing action towards environmental sustainability.
We believe that every piece of litter removed from the ocean makes a difference. Join us as we work together to protect our beautiful coastline for future generations!
Sign up today and be part of this global movement for cleaner, healthier oceans!

The Future Leaders Mentorship Program is an initiative by Volunteers Inc. aimed at empowering Jamaican youth aged 16-25 by connecting them with experienced professionals across various sectors, including education, business, technology, and government. The Green Thumb Project
The Green Thumb Project is a school vegetable garden initiative led by Volunteers Inc. that aims to promote sustainability, environmental education, and healthy eating habits among Jamaican students. By fostering agricultural awareness from an early age, the project will instill a sense of responsibility for environmental stewardship, encourage teamwork, and provide practical skills for self-sufficiency in food production.
The Active Youths Initiative
Volunteers Inc. is excited to introduce the Active Youths Initiative, a transformative project aimed at promoting an active and healthy lifestyle among Jamaica's youth. With a growing concern over sedentary habits, obesity, and poor physical health, this initiative seeks to inspire young people across the country to engage in regular physical activity through sports, outdoor programs, and fitness challenges. Designed to be practical and scalable, the Active Youths Initiative will empower Jamaica's youth to build healthy habits while fostering community involvement and teamwork.
Community Health Initiative
The Community Health Day Initiative is a transformative project aimed at addressing critical health needs among Jamaican youths. As part of this initiative, the 2000 Vision Project focuses on vision care, while the second major focus area will be mental health, an often underserved and growing concern among the youth population in Jamaica. In addition to these two focus areas, the initiative will host general health fairs to provide a wide range of medical services and wellness programs.
